LESLIE KENT

Leslie Kent Collection

The images on this page show work by other artists which were collected over the years by Leslie and Margaret.

There are a few by Fred Milner who was Leslie's first serious teacher in St Ives, and some by Arthur Friedenson who also taught him briefly, and their work clearly shows how they influenced Leslie's own mature style. Arthur Kemp Tebby's watercolours also feature prominently – he was Leslie's uncle and was the first to encourage him to paint. Other paintings were bought at exhibitions or aquired, possibly, in return for one of Leslie's paintings.
